Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)

The global Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World), in which Sonova has been listed since September 2014, is internationally regarded as an important reference for sustainable corporate management and honors the best of each industry. The index comprises the leading ten percent of the world’s 2,500 largest listed companies. It serves as a benchmark for investors who factor in sustainability when assembling their investment portfolios. Analysts from RobecoSAM evaluate companies from 60 industries on a range of environmental, economic and social criteria to determine the global Dow Jones Sustainability Index rating and review the index every year.

The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies which demonstrate leadership in embedding sustainable practices into business management. Through a comprehensive methodology, FTSE Russell provides a multi-dimensional measure of environmental, social and governance exposure and practice, providing the investment community with a tool for portfolio design and management to investigate ESG criteria. FTSE Russell methodology is solely based on publicly available data, requiring high transparency from companies to be included, therefore the confirmation of Sonova in the index underscores the strong commitment of the Group in promoting accountability and transparency.

ISS ESG Prime label

Sonova has received Prime status in the course of the ISS ESG Corporate Rating since 2015.

The ISS ESG Prime label is awarded to companies with an ESG performance above the sector-specific Prime threshold, which means that they fulfil ambitious absolute performance requirements that take into account their individual risk exposure. ISS ESG analysts analyze a company’s management of ESG issues on the basis of up to 100 rating criteria, most of them are sector-specific.

Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI)

Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI)

The Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) recognizes companies that stand up for transparency in reporting and the advancement of equality for women.

Bloomberg’s standardized reporting framework provides companies with an opportunity to publish information about how they are promoting gender equality in four different categories: HR statistics, staff guidelines and programs, public engagement, and product ranges.

The GEI admits reporting companies that score above a globally established threshold, based on the information disclosed in their submissions and achievement of best-in-class statistics and guidelines. The cross-sector index includes 230 publicly listed companies from 36 countries.


Equileap Ranking

Sonova had already been recognized in Equileap’s Gender Equality Global Report & Ranking in 2018.

Equileap is a non-profit organization that has set itself the goal of advancing the equality of men and women in the workplace, and the global gender equality study it has been publishing in furtherance of this aim since 2017 has classified Sonova among the top 200 companies.

In awarding its rankings, the organization investigated more than 3,000 publicly listed companies in 23 industrialized nations, rating them in four categories to produce a scorecard: gender balance in the overall leadership, management and workforce of a company; equal compensation and work/life balance; policies promoting gender equality; and commitment to women’s empowerment, transparency and accountability.

Sonova discloses climate change data for the Carbon Disclosure Project

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) A-

Sonova strives to be trustworthy and transparent with all its stakeholders regarding the environmental impact; it therefore participates in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The results are publicly available and accessible on the CDP website. The CDP scoring level (Disclosure, Awareness, Management, Leadership) demonstrates a company's level of environmental stewardship, and actions and approaches in managing climate change. In 2018, Sonova has received a high score of A-, which is within the Leadership band.
